IAS is the US agent for the leather goods and accessories industry for riri, one of the oldest and most widely recognized manufactures of zippers in the world. Since its founding in 1936, the riri name has become synonymous with exacting quality and precision, adding value and distinction to any product.

Founded in 1936, Riri is one of the oldest industrial manufacturers of zippers. Since inception, Riri products have gained worldwide acceptance and recognition as the ultimate in quality, precision and reliability adding value and distinction to the products to which they are applied. In many top-of-the-line items such as fashion clothing, luggage and handbags, Riri zippers are what discriminating clients recognize as a symbol of quality.
Riri produces nickel-free zippers made of precious metal alloys, zamac and nylon in its two factories in Mendrisio, Switzerland and Tirano, Italy. The production process can involve more than ten steps, making each Riri zipper the finest available, from the top stop to the one-piece cast slider to the soft tape. Strongest too, Riri’s unique method of attaching the puller withstands up to 160 lbs. of pressure. No paperclip or safety pin pulls!
In a process invented by Riri in 1936, each metal tooth is polished repeatedly until it is as smooth as possible, then the teeth are electroplated in 14 different finishes and a rainbow of colors. This unique process makes Riri metal zippers the softest and finest in the world.
In 1951 Riri invented the nylon injected zipper, or plastic tooth zipper and held the patent for 20 years. Riri makes the plastic tooth zippers with extended teeth. In addition to an elegant aesthetic, the extended teeth serve as tracks for the slider and protect the zipper tape
